Billy was kind of our other brother. So he was at my wedding when my mother in law returned her rental car with my husbands suitcase in it. We were leaving at like 6 am for a cruise, so the absent suitcase was a bit of a crisis. In my head I thought "Billy can go get it because if he got caught, he was already a police officer" ..... Well, around 1 am, that suitcase appeared at our hotel room door with a knock, and no one in sight. In my mind, I can still hear Billy saying "c´mon V"....That was Billy, saving the day and not taking any accolades or spotlight. He did the right things because they were right, not for reward. Our world has lost a really fantastic human.

Had the pleasure of meeting Billy when I took the RAD course. He was incredibly patient and gave me the best advice ever. Because of my age and height and despite walking with a cane, he felt if someone was ignorant enough to attack a little old lady, I would never be able to win the fight, not with mace, gun or even my cane . . . . his words of wisdom, stay home or hire a body guard. Those words still echo, such a wonderful person, this world has been robbed of a truly kind and respectful man. Rest in peace.

Many fond memories of Billy as a lifeguard at Crystal Lake. He was always the first to grab a shovel and help.

I had the pleasure of working with Captain Spaulding on many City programs.

I will hold him with deepest respect and appreciation for his many years of service to Newton as he will be remembered as a really good guy!
