Harvey Schein Obituary

Harvey Schein, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024, at the age of 81. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anita Needle Schein (nee Wolff); his loving children and step-children, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Schein, Lawrence Schein, Stacey Needle (Michael Schwartzberg) and Scott (Laura) Needle; his cherished grandchildren, Jordan Schwartzberg, Brandon Schwartzberg, Benjamin Needle, Julian Needle, and Elliot Needle; his dear sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Fred London, and Joani and John Madarash; and his dear aunt, Helene Alterman. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lois Schein (nee Bloom); his devoted brother, Jerome Schein; his loving parents, Elizabeth and Jack Schein.

Harvey attended Forest Park High School, where he developed a lifelong passion for learning and the natural world. He furthered his education at the University of Maryland, earning a degree in Zoology, which laid the foundation for a fulfilling career. From 1966 to 1968, Harvey proudly served in the Army, where he demonstrated courage and dedication. Following his military service, Harvey joined the Social Security Administration, where he spent years helping countless individuals navigate the complexities of bureaucracy. He took great pride in assisting people in need and ensuring they received the support they deserved.

Beyond his professional life, Harvey was an avid sports fan, passionately cheering for the Ravens, Orioles, and Terrapins. He enjoyed indulging in delicious food and had a love for travel, exploring new cultures and cuisines. Harvey was a devoted family man whose heart overflowed with joy in the company of his cherished family. He adored every moment spent with his grandsons, filling their lives with laughter and wisdom. Harvey's unwavering love and kindness created a legacy of togetherness that will forever inspire and be remembered by all who knew him.

Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Sunday, October 27th, 2024, at 12 PM. Interment Beth El Memorial Park. Please omit flowers.
