Visiting with a former Peabody student who asked me what Dean Cline was REALLY like ... I so enjoyed telling stories that illustrated her supportive, exceeding clever leadership style. Eileen visited me after I retired to an island near Seattle and I was grateful for that special "us" time. She modeled many things that I still emulate and value. Eileen was a special, rare human being.

I just learned of Eileen's passing and wish to convey condolences to her family. She was a dear friend and confidant for many years - deeply committed to scholarship, intellectual curiosity, and artistic standards. We met through her involvement with the American Symphony Orchestra League and subsequently shared numerous experiences related to the arts and arts education. May she rest in peace. Wayne S. Brown

I first saw Eileen folk dancing with Franz Mohling on the MUB outdoor terrace in 1972 ... I fell in love with both of them on the spot and have stayed in love since that time ... an amazing woman and I feel so blessed that I was able to visit her in September
