Larry Forar Obituary

Larry George Forar, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on March 24, 1953, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Larry is the beloved son of the late George and Donna Forar. Larry left behind a legacy through his unwavering dedication to his family, friends and his country. He shared 24 memory filled years of marriage with his wife, Janis Forar. He is also survived by his children, Treasa Forar, Monica Forar (Brandon), and Gina Zelden (Matt). Larry had many grandchildren who adored him, Riley, Kira, and Cameron Chappetta, Gabriella Forar, Laila Taberski, Sky, Bart, Joe, Ladonna, Luna, Scarlett, and Zayne Sample, and Troy, David, and Avery Zelden, each of whom he loved greatly. He also leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his sister, Debra Forar, and many extended family members and friends. A patriot at heart, Larry honorably served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he had a successful career as a Master Aircraft Mechanic and went on to own his own successful aircraft company. Larry was a man who spent each day staying busy. He spent his days with family, gardening, renovating houses, helping others, and never missed a chance to cheer on the Texas Longhorns. Larry was a pillar of strength and a source of wisdom for his family, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
