We lived next door to John and Sheila for 7 years when we first got married. Such a lovely friendly couple, our hearts go out to Sheila and Johns children. We haven´t seen them much since but when I bumped into John last at the chip shop in Sutton Farm he said `how are you kid´ - his usual greeting and it was like we never left. I am sure he will be missed by all family and friends, he was a true gentleman. Love from Paul and Deb x

I have fond memories of John in my early years living in Shrewsbury when we used to meet up with a small group of friends on Friday evenings over a drink or two ("The Friday Night Gang"). John´s smile and humour made him very good company to be with.
Visits into town at weekends would entail passing Halon´s Menswear and we would always look out for John and this would involve a bit of chitchat in between serving customers.
I am privileged to have known such a true gentleman.
May you rest in peace.

Many fond memories of such a lovely gentle man. Our girls loved him like a grandad. We will miss his lovely smile when he said " you ok our kid".

Rest in Peace John and condolences to his family at this sad time. Everyone shopping in Shrewsbury and specifically customers of Halon Menswear will have known and seen John the immaculately dressed Manager of this store, often standing just inside the doorway ready to welcome customers and friends. John was always such a friendly, knowledgeable and professional person whenever you needed advice or help on the quality clothing within the Halon store. The impeccable Manager and above all a very friendly person within one of Shrewsbury Town Centre's iconic shops evokes great memories for those of us in our more mature years.
Rest in Peace Mr Brake.
