Paul Christopher DUDLEY Notice
DUDLEY, Paul Christopher. Born January 29, 1960. Passed away on October 10, 2021. "Suffice to say Paul Christopher Dudley didn't break the mould he shattered it like the great King Monkey!" He rode into our lives on the back of a black VW beetle and stole our mother away to the decadent Masquerade and Balls of 1990's Manurewa. "Go hard or go home" was a popular saying of the day which Paul shortened to a more concise "Go Hard!" and he did, work or play the man gave his all, always with a cheeky smile, A durry on his lips and an encouraging word. Geraldine and Paul married and our family grew Renée and Zakk joined Tennille, Daniel, Carleen and Matthew. Paul became PDiddy to us with his brothers John and Bernard and sisters Carolyn and Marian regular visitors. Music always filled the house, all types of music from Space Oddity to Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane to the Berlin trilogy even the much maligned "Let's Dance" album getting a spin. The Lepers missed their Messiah but he had moved on to new challenges and adventures riding the winds of fortune and calamity with equal grit, determination and Lion Reds. The wheel turns, GK's Evelia, Zepher Step Gk's Kaiden, Jake, Te'Oranoa, Janessa, Caius, Rian, Amarah, Koen, Damian, Lexi, Arlo and Vincent emerge onto the stage and "Life" happens. Moving across the ditch I saw Paul less but whenever I did he was the same charismatic, straight up and good natured man that inspired my friends and who I grew up with. The "Dude" has gone and we miss him. The end of an era. Rest In Peace
