Willie passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from a brief illness at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by his loving family. He was 67 years old. A longtime resident of Malden, Willie was the son of the late Alliston and Mary (Adams) Lunt. He attended school in Everett and graduated from Everett High School with the Class of 1972. Willie dedicated his working career as a truck driver, a career which he was passionate about. He worked for U.S. Xpress for a number of years, transporting goods and all kinds of cargo cross country. Willie decided to retire from trucking when his first grandchild was born. As a family man, it was important for him to spend more time with his family since years as a trucker left him traveling long distances, missing time from his family. He then began working as a driver for First Call Transportation, which he also loved because he got to connect and get to know many people that needed his services. He dedicated 14 years with First Call Transportation, before his retirement in March of 2019. Willie was also a late US Army Veteran. He will be forever loved and missed by all who loved him.
Willie is the beloved husband of Linda Wareham of Malden. Devoted father of Jennifer J. Wareham of Malden, Nichole M. (Lunt) Dubon of Everett, Mark T. Lunt of Malden. Dear brother of Alliston “Al” Lunt and his wife Dolores of Billerica, Dorothy and Cliff of FL, and the late Richie Lunt, Mary Longo, Millie Nichols. Brother-in-law of Rudy Longo of NH, and the late Nick Nichols. Cherished grandfather of 4 grandchildren, Alex, Darwin, Jeyli, Leila. Also lovingly survived by several nieces and nephews.
