Rodney Abercrombie Obituary

Rodney D. Abercrombie (Duck), 65 of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania unexpectedly passed away Sunday June 5, 2022, at Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital in Beaver, Pennsylvania to be with our Lord and Savior.


Rodney was born in Rochester, Pennsylvania to the late Ida Louise (Taylor) and Frank D. Abercrombie on April 17, 1957. Rodney is a 1976 graduate of Aliquippa High School, and he attended a trade school in Delaware, obtaining his CDL with Hazmat certifications. He was employed as a Security Officer at the Beaver County Assistance Office, (Rochester, PA).


As an accomplished musician, Rodney has been playing drums since an early age and was a co-founder of the local band Rare Experience. He had the opportunity to perform with many local and nationally known artists in various venues, throughout the tri-state and national area.   Along with his late brother Duane Abercrombie, they assisted many local ministries in the area.


Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; Ida Louise and Frank Abercrombie, his oldest son; Rodney (RJ) D. Abercrombie, Jr., and his brother; Duane Abercrombie.


Surviving to cherish his precious memory is his loving wife; Tamyka (Tammy) Abercrombie, two children; Tyanna Abercrombie (his only daughter), and his youngest son; Tyrese Abercrombie both of Aliquippa, PA. His five brothers, Stanley Taylor, (Beaver, PA), Edward Taylor (Aliquippa, PA), DeAndre Abercrombie (Detroit, MI), Rapheal (Lisa) Abercrombie (Ambridge, PA) and Frank Abercrombie Jr (Washington, D.C.), and his only sister; Sarene “Granny” (Curtis) Abercrombie-Foskey, maternal uncles: Eugene Taylor (Pittsburgh, PA) and Edward “Butch” (Gardenia) Taylor (Aliquippa, PA) and a HOST of relatives as well as MANY close friends. Rodney will be remembered as the social connector among many friends. He will be remembered for his captivating smile and positive demeanor. He was adored by many and loved by all.
