Leah Bailey Obituary

Leah Rae Bailey, age 60, of Plymouth, passed away unexpectedly with her husband by her side on December 9th, 2021.

Preceded in death by her parents Rollie Holstein and Connie Raske; and in-laws Charles and Ann Bailey.

Survived by husband, Peter; son Charlie, and daughter Elise; brothers, Steven (Liz) Holstein, Brian Holstein, Jeff (Tasha) Holstein, Brian (Nancy) Bushee, and Eric Bushee; step-mother, Diane Holstein; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen (Tom) Benninger, Kathy (John) Roberts, and Carolyn Bailey; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends whom she loved dearly.

Leah was born in Tracy, Minnesota, grew up in New Ulm, and went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. While at the U of M, she met Peter Bailey, and the two were married on November 25th, 1989. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, and incredible friend. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family at the cabin. An avid reader, she could be found snuggled up in her favorite chair, with a good book, a crackling fire, and the sound of soft piano filling the room. Leah left us far too soon and will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life. We will love her forever.

Peter, Charlie & Elise,

I am so sorry to hear about Leah's passing. My heart is broken!

Leah was such an important person to me during college. She was my roommate for all 4 years of college. That was such a formative time for us, and Leah brought out all the good things. All of our goals and aspirations were revealed in late, late night conversations over blender drinks. (We made the best!) She really brought me out of my shell and taught me how to live a little.

I'm so sorry that we hadn't connected in a while. I had always thought it would happen (probably when I retired.) It has taught me how precious life is, and not to take this time for granted.

I'm posting a picture that may have been one of the first times that Leah met you Peter - freshman year at the Improper Fraction. She knew then that you were her happily ever after.

Prayers for comfort for you and your family!

I am so sorry and sad to lose a ray of sunshine like Leah! A loss so great is hard to put into words.
She stood out and shined as a kind, gracious, and selfless person. I pray her goodness will live on in the hearts of all who know and love her.

Peter, Charlie, and Elise,

My heart breaks for you, and with you.

Leah and I were partners in crime In middle school, high school, college, and beyond. We shared so many wonderful adventures, memories, and most of our clothes!

Leah was my beautiful, smart, and super fun best friend. My parents loved Leah as a sixth daughter — we were quite inseparable.

Her happily ever after dreams came true when she met Peter. Charlie and Elise completed the fairy tale.

I’m grateful for the blessing of our many memories. Leah will be in my heart forever.

Love to you Peter, Charlie, Elise. I’m holding you close in my prayers.
