Jon’s a wonderful person he made it a better place.
From my beginning he was always in our summer’s
at the farm and lake.
Visiting in July he was hoping for normal.
Our heart felt condolences to his family and extended
family. He will be missed by our family.
Farewell Jon, farewell

I am so sorry to hear of Jon's passing. I was a classmate of Jon's, played hockey together, and our sons played each other in baseball a couple times, once in Hibbing, and again in M.L. My son Dylan, and my wife Laura, send our sincere condolences to the family. I had learned of Jon's battle with throat cancer in 2020, as he said he had a tough year since it was diagnosed in 2019. But he was optimistic, as he told me that they think they got it all. I am very familiar with the battle of cancer, as I have lost both parents and three siblings already to that disease. These are tough times, but you can have those positive memories to hang on to. One day at a time. Take care.

Jon had a radiant smile. Someone was always ready to capture the fun he was a part of. You could say he had a glimmer. These pictures are from Grandma Lampel/Aunt Betty Lehet's album. I grew up with these images of my cousins because we could only make short visits to Minnesota, maybe long enough to recapture the accent during summer. We were close in age and did lots of things together.
Jon enjoyed being around equipment that moved. You can tell. Tractors, snowmobiles and motorcycles come to mind. Grandpa Arvi and Uncle Ray may have had a part in those influences.
It was unexpected to hear the news that Jon slipped away from us. He left us too young. We expect to live as long as our parents did; maybe as long as our grandparents if things go well. Just retiring opened up options for Jon and Kelly. My condolences to Kelly, Wyatt and Megan. Jon will be missed. This is on the heels of Jon's sister Brenda, another sudden loss.
I wish it hadn't gone this way. Jon will live on in our thoughts and shared memories. You won't be forgotten Jon.

I went to school with Jon for a short while when he went to Barnum. I remember we had the same initials and sat by each other because of alphabetical order. I talked with him when he worked at Mercy. He would come to Kenwood for his breaks. He would talk about his farming ect. He was friendly and kind. Miss him. My husband went to school with him and his siblings in Mooselake.

Kelly and family-so sorry for your loss! What a great man he was! I've known Jon for many, many years and he's always been a kind and good hearted person. He had a contagious smile and always said hello. When my dad was in the nursing home, I would often meet Jon in the hallway and one day he said, "Karen, I know what you're bringing to your dad and I'm not telling on you......it's hard to hide "snuff juice" when it's all over the floor by his garbage"!!! We both laughed and went on our way. Thank you Jon for your friendship over the years! Rest in peace my friend!

I had only just begun to get to know Jon, but what I discovered, was a wonderful man. He was funny and intelligent and he loved his family and was proud of his kids. May God wrap his arms around your family with love.

I remember working with Jon, he was always smiling, he used to like to try and startle me when I was working in the Laundry Room at Mercy, he always called me smiley, I saw him
Last year when we were all wearing masks and he said to me “hi smiley, even with the mask
I can tell it is you by the smile in your eyes” we talked for a few minutes, I didn’t know he was sick, Even then he took the time
to make me feel happier, he will be so greatly missed, the world was a better place with him in it, My condolences to you Kelly, Megan and Wyatt and to everyone else who knew and loved him.
