Gregory Thompson Obituary

Strong , devoted , encourager , loveable and God fearing are some of many traits to personally describe Gregory  Atwood  Thompson age 58 . On December 24,2020 after shouting  several times  Hallelujah went home to be with the Lord.   Gregory  was born to Ermond Atwood JR.  and Theressia Thompson on October 1,1962 .  Gregory graduated from Hampton High School class of 1980. Member of Miracle Temple  Baptist Church . He was employed with Newport News Ship Building for 19 years and with city of Suffolk for 7years . Gregory married Karen Copeland in 1995. He proceeded in death by his father Ermond Atwood Thompson and sister Sharon Diprtoro.

He lives to cherish memories Karen Thompson  of 25 years of marriage, his mother Theressia Thompson, his brothers  Kenneth ( Sophia ) and Kevin ( Jackie ), sisters  Gladys  Bazmore  and Karen Thompson  , in laws Marvin & Jessie Copeland , one brother in – law Marvin Copeland , two sister in – laws  Glenda Copeland, Kim Copeland and Valorie ( Reginald)Morris.    host of nieces , nephews ,cousin and friends .

He will be missed and continually loved by his family and friend . Viewing will be held Wednesday , December 30,2020 from 3pm – 6pm at the funeral home.  Service will be held Thursday, December 31,2020 at 11 am @ Carver Memorial Cemetery in  Suffolk Va.
