Donna Gangelhoff Obituary

Donna Marie Gangelhoff, 92, of Hamel, MN passed away on June 1, 2021. Donna was born on October 20, 1928, in Hutchinson, MN.

She is survived by her children, Diane (Dennis) Derdoski, Mark, John (Joyce), Judy (Don) Barry, Matthew (Debbie), Nancy, David (Leslie Russell), Steven, Cathy (Brian) Schmid, Sandy, and Chris, and many grandchildren and their families.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband, John and sons, Jerry and Tom.

Donna married her husband John in 1947. They shared a life rich with love and laughter, raising 13 children on an idyllic farm, creating a home any child would feel lucky to be part of. She was an unfailingly loving, patient, and kind mother to each of her children. Every grandchild and great-grandchild was blessed with her love. Not only was she a fierce protector of her family, but she was a mother to so many beyond her own children, caring for and supporting each person who entered her world. She loved flowers, birds, nature walks, and hot fudge sundaes. Her love for chocolate was legendary.

She was sweet and funny, living a life of quiet dignity and strength - a brilliant ray of goodness in the world, making everyone she came in touch with feel seen and loved.
