Oh my heart is so broken I am so sad!!
I can’t believe what I just found out
My friend my Sister I should say I loved this woman to death
We first met at Petro and we just clicked just like that
We always kept in touch
We would call each other once in a while and visited each other
I knew she had been fighting cancer and when I talked to her I could hear the strength the fight she had in her
We had planned on meeting out for lunch but it never happened
I was driving down the road and a song came on that made me think of her and I pick up the phone to call her and it was disconnected or no longer in service
I knew something was wrong then because Annette never changed her number
I wished I could have visited her before this had happened

I will never forget you because we had some good times and I loved you like my sister
You were the greatest

Thinking back all the way to high school, kitten was always person who you could talk to easily. She always had positive energy and was very family oriented. I would speak with her on her birthday always. I will surely miss our conversations. All my prayers and blessings to the family.

To Hope, Debra, Monet, and all of Kitten’s family,
I was so heartbroken to hear the news about Kitten. I want to send my deepest love and sympathy to all of you during this incredibly painful time.

Kitten was such a special person to me. I have loved her for a long time. My mind instantly goes back to all those silly childhood moments—Hope, you and I always getting into Kitten and Debra's "stuff" as little girls. Kitten was an integral, wonderful part of my early life, and I will always cherish those memories of staying overnight with you guys.

Even into adulthood, she was on my mind. I was so happy to see her a while back at Oxford Mt Zion. Monet, I remember seeing your mom and honestly, I was running fastttt and out of breath , trying to catch up just to say "hi." It breaks my heart that it was the last time I spoke to her, but that moment perfectly encapsulates how I felt about her—she was someone I always wanted to connect with.

Please know that I am holding all of you in my thoughts. I hope you can find comfort in the beautiful, lively memories you share of Kitten.

God has called home another beautiful soul!! Though not blood related Kitten has always been family to me. I loved how she called me Hope Sr and her sister Hope Jr. She radiated love through her smile, hugs, and the life she lived. May the family and all who knew and loved her take comfort in knowing she is now resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father!

WOW is all I keep saying. I can’t believe that my “Sissy” is gone. In spite of Kitten being in the hospital in VA and me being in one in MD, we kept in contact regularly, promising to be well enough for one of us to drive to see the other. After release, neither of us had not been well enough to make the drive so until we could, Kitten sent me the most beautiful greeting cards. She didn’t wait until my birthday, Christmas, Mother’s Day, etc., she just wanted me to know how much she truly loved me. I flooded her phone with numerous texts, letting her know how much I loved and missed her. I’m going to miss our 7-8 hour phone calls!!! I will ALWAYS hold you in my heart. Goodnight Sissy, until our Godly naps are over. I’ll see you in the morning.

Hey Suga, I know everyone called you Kitten but we went by Suga. That’s just what we called each other. You were a good Mother IN love(Mother In Law).We FaceTimed, we talked, we prayed, we laughed very rarely cried, but we did sometimes lol . You always checked on your little rascals (your grand gems) and never left me out. I would call for you and to pray. I would say,”calling to check on you and see how you were doing?”Somehow you would always say,”How are you doing Suga?” You always encouraged me and spoke life into me. Not matter how you felt in your body your never complained! You were the epitome of strength and resilience. You fought a good long fight! You went out swinging and Victorious. I am sad our time was cut short. However, I know you are pain free! I know you are whole. I know you are in Heaven having a good ole time. I am comforted by the fact that you got to see King & Genesis one last time. You smiled so big watching her run in that walker. You never missed chance to tell your sweet boy (King) how much you loved him. Your loved didn’t have a limit on where it would go because from VA to WA we felt it. I am going to miss our daily prayer sessions. We prayed everyday for the last couple of months. I miss it already. I miss the,”That’s Right!, Thank You Father!, Amens! But one thing I know for sure is that you are with the Father Now. The Word says,”To be absent from the body means to be present with the Lord.” The last song we sang together was,” It won’t always be like this, He will perfect that concerning me, sooner or later it will turn in my favor!” You are perfected in Him Now.
