Always remember Roy and Jeanette - My father Ewan worked with Roy in Auckland on the Auckland Hospital project and he helped Roy get the Mercury Threatre ready - Roy and Jeanette used to come "for drinks" to our place in Pt. Chev.

My dear Jeanette, I´ve just heard that the indomitable Roy died just before Christmas. I´m sending you big hugs, and remembering what a great guy he was - all those years ago saving the Fortune Theatre, transforming a disused church into a delightful, lovely theatre - and bringing Tony Richardson back to instil some real `theatre´ into Dunedin. Always warm and positive, a real friend to us all. We missed you both so much when you left for Christchurch.
Lots of love to you and the family

Hello Mrs Walker & family, I am the son of Ted Coyle who was on the team with Lincoln Laidlaw, Roy Walker & other well known dignitaries who set up the Mercury Theatre in the old Playhouse Theatre. My parents, Ted & Viv, who for many years rented your old house at 5 Saratoga Ave after you moved south. My family & I have fond memories of that house.
Please accept the condolences on the passing of Roy.
