On August 16, 2025, suddenly at Wellington Hospital, aged 85 years. Much loved sister of Hilary and Mick, and Linda. Loved Aunt of Andrew and Richard. Internationally recognised for her groundbreaking research in marine biology. In accordance with Janet's wishes a private cremation has been held. A celebration of Janet's life will be held at 160 Oriental Parade, Wellington, at 3.00pm, Thursday, September 4, 2025.
