PhD. On January 1, 2025, peacefully at Essie Summers Retirement Village, Christchurch, aged 101 years. Loving wife of the late Denis, devoted mother of Tim and the late Seamus. Messages to the Hogan family, PO Box 26051, North Avon, Christchurch 8148. A family service to celebrate Helen's life has been held.

Despite my best efforts, (Hillmorton High, 1963 to 1967), to the contrary, Helen managed to instil in me a love of the correct use of language, and also a deep enduring love of performance Shakespeare.
Thank you Helen, my life has been greatly enhanced by your teaching.
