I found out about the death of Grant three months later and was shocked and saddened. He was younger than me.
Grant was my philosophy lecturer for three years in the 2000s at Lincoln University. I really enjoyed the course, his teaching, and his course material (which I still have). I am particularly thankful for his teaching of critical thinking which I often use in both work and personal life.
I met him quite some time after completing my studies and he remembered me - quite a feat given how many students would have passed through his classes!
He was a good bloke and the world needs more of them.

He was the course advisor me in the Lincoln ESD faculty during 2020-2021.
A shock to know this sad news.
Remembering him.

I shared so many conversations with Grant both at work at Lincoln and, for a while, regularly on the bus back from Lincoln. The two of us would talk with good humour about philosophy, psychology, life in general and, of course, work. He was an intellectual soul-mate for me at Lincoln and I think we both enjoyed the opportunity to talk about things that really interested the both of us. Grant was such a personable, likeable, witty and fascinating colleague and friend. So many interests, so much vitality, so much generosity of heart. I will miss him greatly.
