Grant TAVINOR Obituary

On August 13, 2025, at Christchurch Hospital, aged 52 years. A loved husband, son, and brother. Will be missed by his peers at Lincoln University and overseas. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Dr Grant Tavinor, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A service for Grant will be held at Oaklands, corner Wigram and Halswell Junction Roads, Halswell, on August 23, at 10.30am, followed by private cremation.

I shared so many conversations with Grant both at work at Lincoln and, for a while, regularly on the bus back from Lincoln. The two of us would talk with good humour about philosophy, psychology, life in general and, of course, work. He was an intellectual soul-mate for me at Lincoln and I think we both enjoyed the opportunity to talk about things that really interested the both of us. Grant was such a personable, likeable, witty and fascinating colleague and friend. So many interests, so much vitality, so much generosity of heart. I will miss him greatly.
