In loving memory of a remarkable person who never hesitated to call a spade a spade and always spoke her truth with courage and clarity. Yvonne's articulate nature, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family were evident from the first time I met her. Through our interactions it was evident she took immense pride in her daughter Sofia living in the USA and cherished her animals dearly. Though I am unable to attend the funeral due to work commitments, my thoughts and deepest condolences are with you all during this difficult time. May her memory live on in the hearts of those she loved most.

Where the Light Still Lives
(A tribute to Yve - short for Yvonne)
You gave more than you ever took-
a warm meal, a steady hand,
an open door, even when life had shut so many on you.
You knew hardship, and still, you chose grace.
Strength lived in your bones long before the world noticed.
You had a quiet way of lifting people.
Even the smallest gesture-a word, a look,
was enough to remind someone they mattered.
Your love stretched far beyond borders-
even to Los Angeles, where I had the honor of meeting you.
And in that short time, your light was undeniable.
You loved animals with a pure kind of care-
the kind that only comes from a deep, giving heart.
You had a soulful bond with music,
a gift for connection,
and a wit that could lift a room with one clever line.
And oh, the radio-
not just background noise, but a companion,
a rhythm to the day that played like a memory
always ready to return.
You were grounded-an earth sign with roots deep and steady.
Safia always said we´d get along.
She was right.
You passed that cosmic rhythm down to her too-
that love for the stars,
and the strength to walk among them with grace.
I may not have known your every chapter,
but I know your impact-because I know your daughter.
Safia walks with your fire in her spirit,
your rhythm in her laughter,
and a soul stitched with wisdom from both you and Michael.
But that groove in her step,
that spark in her sound-
we all know that came from Yve.
Rest easy now.
You gave this world something beautiful.
And in every kind gesture,
every favorite song,
every life you touched-
that´s where your light still lives.
Haere ra.
With love, Nick Clayton (Los Angeles)

Yve loved a chat on the phone and was always there at any of our primary school fairs and engagements. She was well known to all the willow park kids and parents. I remember all the times we would meet her after school in shore city for a nz naturals ice cream and a look around the shops. Yve was an amazing mother to saf and will be dearly missed by her. Sending love to Lara and Saf during this hard time xx rip Yve.

Yve was such a light, always kind, always welcoming. Every time we would chat she would be cheeky or poke fun and had a mischievous kind of humour. Her love extended out to the pets she had and was always very loving. She will be very much missed especially by her youngest daughter Safia. Rest in peace Yve xx
