Yanktesh REDDY Obituary

REDDY, Yanktesh Permal (Y P Reddy). It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Yanktesh Permal (Y.P.) Reddy, O.B.E, CJ, on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the age of 89. Y.P., beloved husband of Vimla Wati Reddy, peacefully departed in Auckland, NZ, surrounded by his immediate family. In 1957, Y.P. Reddy joined the Reddy Group, eventually ascending to the roles of Managing Director and Chairman, playing a pivotal role in the conglomerate's substantial growth. His leadership and vision were instrumental in shaping the organization into a prominent entity. Additionally, he served as the President of TISI Sangam in Fiji for numerous years. Y.P. Reddy will be dearly missed by his children - Sandra and Vimal, Rohit and Meena, Kamini and Champak, Kalpana and Elizabeth and the late Radha Gounder family, as well as his grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, staff of the Tanoa Group and wider Reddy Group businesses and numerous members of Fiji, Pacific, and New Zealand communities who were fortunate to know him. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 6, at 1 pm, at Anns Funeral Home 11c Bolderwood Place, Wiri in Auckland.

Condolences from Beverly and Hamish Rose, Christchurch. Barry passed away in 2017 after a long illness. Barry always had great memories of YP and Fiji in the 70s.
