Willy Van Der Veeken Obituary

VAN DER VEEKEN, Willy (previously Roest). Aged 92. Passed away on 6 September 2025. Much loved wife of the late Frits Roest; and the late Kees Van Der Veeken. Dearly loved and cherished Mum of Wilma, Tony (deceased), Rob and Maggy. Mum in law of Grant, Thelma and Graeme. Treasured Oma of her grandchildren Tracey, Craig, Scott, Elisha, Jessica and Adam; and great grandchildren, Cory, Renee, Ben, and James, Sam, Harper and Fred, Stella, Berlin, and Lennon, Dylan, Bradley, Charlotte and Jack. We will miss her immensely as she was a huge part of our lives. Mum lived a long, independent and very happy life, and as well, will be missed by her many friends. Willy's family would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt messages and flowers received. And thank all staff involved in her care at Whangarei hospital and Jane Mander retirement village. As per mums wishes a private funeral has been held. We understand that Mum was a very social and popular person and has made many friendships over the years. Mum valued and loved all of you. We truly regret those of you who did not attend her funeral, however as per mums wishes, it was to be a private service.
