Loved son of the late Edith Wallace (née Chamberlain) and William Wallace. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Aspell-Wallace. Former husband of Margaret Wallace, father and father-in-law of Alison and Jan-Bas (Amsterdam), Liz and Richie (Christchurch), Alastair and Jo (Christchurch), Michael and Julanne (Dunedin). Stepfather of Liza and Dan (Nottingham, UK) and Monica and Andy (Oxford, UK). Grandfather of Miro (Amsterdam), Ewen, Finlay and Theodora (Dunedin), step-grandfather of Tyler (Auckland), Heather, Esme, Sirsha and Malachi (UK). Bill's funeral will take place on Thursday March 7th at 10am, at the Transitional Cathedral, Latimer Square, Christchurch. I was saddened to read of Bill's passing. He was a life long friend of my mother, Iris Weld, and he and I enjoyed intellectual conversations. He contributed to my doctoral research on courage, providing me with many rich quotes. Thank you Bill for your wisdom and words, you have left a powerful legacy.
