Dear Rod.. I am gutted to read of your passing, we are contemporaries, but so long since we have spoken . Way back in those good old days we were family friends.. your mum and dad , Joyce and Ron, were great party lovers with my mum and dad, Hilda and John Drury, and whenever we got together it was vibrant and wonderful.. I loved your mother's energy and beauty !!. They met while living in Wellington way back in their younger days. My heartfelt sadness to hear you are gone and to think I was always going to catch up when we were next in the S.I. All my love to the loved ones you have farewelled and may you rest in beautiful peace xxx I must add how much I loved your daughters poem to you.. I never knew you as a parent but I imagine you were wonderful with your warm heart and great sense of humour xx❤

We chatted in April and promised we would catch up in September on my return....alas, only today I have learnt of Rod's passing. My heart is heavy.
Thanks for the memories old friend....

If I could write a story
It would be the greatest ever told
Of a kind and loving father

Enjoyed hearing the Gandolf stories shared by Rod at Christmas and sharing the excitement and joy of the Rod Stewart concert where Rod and Jenny sat in the front row! Thinking of Jenny and both families in your loss. A lovely man.
