The family of William's late cousin Henry Newson send our most heartfelt condolences to William's family on the loss of their loved husband, father and grandfather, it was such a pleasure to have met this kind and gentle man, now reunited with his daughters Margot and Deb.

My grandfather Pater Bill was strong, calm and always interested in others. Always asking after others. He taught me many things over the years. How to load and shoot a pellet gun. How to brew a better beer. How to throw together a plywood box for my new record collection. The value of walking your guest to their car at the end of a visit. And how important it is to not loose your temper. Bill struggled with this one towards the end. His eyesight was nearly gone. And he'd get particularly cheesed at how hard it seemed to get Alexa to link up with his audiobooks. Books were Bills entry to the outside world. He loved history books and John Le Carre spy novels. He, like the spy's in Le Carres novels was known by many names. Papou, Pater Bill, Tiger Bill, Bill, Pater and possibly more. I wish I had got to know him a little more than I did. Rest in peace my old grandfather. I know you are in a better place.
