William HODSON Obituary

HODSON, William Kirkham. On 1 May 2025 peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home. Also known as Granddad, Dad, Dada Bill, Tito Bill, grasshopper passed the checkered flag (as he would say). A much loved and positive force in the many lives he touched. Gone into the loving arms of the Lord and will be in our hearts forever. You were a joy in our lives a reliable and entertaining companion that made our journeys easier with many laughs along the way. You have left us with so many precious memories to hold onto until we meet again. Will be very much missed by Jennifer, Mark, Trish, Ayessa, Raquel, John, Davina, Brett, Rand, Karen, Kieron and his cherished 10 grandchildren. A Requiem mass will be held for Bill at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 27 Telford Avenue, Mount Eden, on Thursday 8 May at11am.

Grandad was such an amazing figure in my life. He gave me so much love and wonderful advice. He was never bored and always had something to do. Grandad, I will miss you, but I know you are shining down from above.

To all the whanau and extended whanau, I would like to offer my condolences for your loss and fondly remember Uncle Bill as always being friendly and interesting to talk to. He had a high resilience to his discomforts and relished living life to its fullest. He was highly enthusiastic for Daniel and my travels to Canada to visit some of the areas where he and Garry grew up. It made the trip so much more memorable. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the funeral but Daniel will be there representing our love and respect. Much love to all, Glenda and Daniel Lassen
