William Robert HILL

William HILL Obituary

HILL, William Robert (Bob). 22 September 1926 - 24 June 2019. After a courageous battle with old age, at 92, Bob popped his roman sandals, peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Dearly loved husband of the late Pat (Patricia Jean Reeves) for 58 years and generous Dad of Trish (Anne) and Kevin Myers, Kathleen (Kathy), and Jeanette and Ross Hamilton. Grandpop of Janine and Brett Ryland, Helen and Allan Rhodes, Roslyn and Michael Palmer; and Muir, Kelsi and Megan Hamilton. Loved Great-Grandpop of Daniel Rashid Mardani; Charlotte, Isobel and Abbey Rhodes; and James and Adam Palmer. Will be hugely missed. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at North Shore Memorial Park, 235 Schnapper Rock Road, Albany on Monday 1st July 2019 at 2.30pm. Donations would be appreciated to the Hibiscus Coast Hospice, www.harbourhospice.org.nz. A huge debt of thanks to Ganga from Geneva Healthcare, St John Ambulance Silverdale; WDHB District Nurses HBC; Drs Du Toit and Meech; Hibiscus Coast Hospice and Orewa Life Pharmacy for all their wonderful support, care and attention to Bob and family. We are very grateful to you all. Where would we have been without our sister Kathy? Dad was extremely comforted by your unconditional care.

Hey Dad after mum passed away it was just you and me. We did it our way looking after each other until your time drew near to go be with her. I was happy to look after you at home until the end just like I did with mum. Now you are both up there in heaven give mum a big hug from me. Tell both her and Stephen (my Steve) I still miss them dearly. Not a day ill go by that I will stop thinking of you all until we all meet again. Love and Hugs from me your daughter Kathleen (Kathy).

The sad passing of Bob Hill reminds me of the greatly valued link Bob had with my mother, the late Thelma Dunn. It is ten years ago, in August, that she passed away. During her life, Bob always took time to keep in touch. She loved hearing from him and his visits. Bob was very dear to her and enriched her life. Rest well dear Bob. My condolences to Kathy and family.

HILL, William Robert (Bob). Passed away peacefully on Monday morning 24th June 2019. Dearly loved son of Dorothy and Jack, loved brother of Sally and Norm Adamson, Ruth and Noel Forbes, Beryl and Alvan Lane (all deceased), Grahame and Annette, Dorothy and Ian Chaplin (deceased). Gone to meet your sisters. Rest in peace brother. The Family wish to thank Kathleen for her special care of Bob.
