William GUY Obituary

GUY, William (Bill). QSM, JP. Aged 91 years. Passed away peacefully on 31st August 2015. Much loved husband of the late Ann and father to Barbara and Michael, the late Clive, Louise and Mark, Alan and Alison, and Dick and Catherine. Dearly loved grandpa Bill to James, Oskar, Nik, Zaid, Kit, Erin, Alim, Thomas, Georgia and Mitch. A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at 1pm on Monday 7th September at the French Bay Yacht Club, Otitori Bay Road, French Bay. State of Grace 0800 764 722

Often think of you "Mr Guy", all those years ago. New Lynn Primary in the 1950's and again, to my dismay, at Avondale Intermediate. Memories of the strap (Black ...?) and that penetrating gaze from behind the glasses. Tough, but fair and kind when he thought he could afford to be. Don't know why you made such an impression on me, but glad you made it to 91. I expect it was a good life.

My condolences, in memory of my school teacher at New Lynn Primary School 1948/49 as well as my son's Headmaster at Glendene - a great teacher - a dry sense of humour - and fantastic aim with a piece of chalk - remember the good times. Kind thoughts.
