I wish to acknowledge and thank the staff at the Hasting Hospital B2 and the rehabilitation unit also the palliative care team, your compassion, support, medical knowledge and acceptance of laughter along with tears was brilliant. You allowed Dad to keep as much of his dignity as possible and Dad would tell me he thought you were all fantastic. I also wish to acknowledge Jan & Bruce Nicol at Elmore Lodge Motel for their support to me. You had never meet me before, but you made room for me, allowing me to focus on being close to Dad. Finally I wish to acknowledge Dad. Over these past few months as you went through your horrific medical issues, you gave me your time and we laughed and cried together, reminisced and created memories. We also had the bonus of your family visiting or ringing, this has given me the priceless gift of getting to know them, and the future will include them in my life. Dad you have left behind a rich and varied assortment of memories for us to process and treasure. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day; Love you Dad, your daughter Marise.
