William Humlan Obituary

William Humlan, 81, of Trafford, died peacefully Wednesday, April 20, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born May 7, 1929, in Swissvale. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the Coast Guard. Bill retired from US Steel, Edgar Thompson Works, and was an animal lover, gardener and amateur handyman. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen (Lengyel) Humlan; his children, Audrey Sohier, William Humlan (Sheila) and John Humlan. He was the Pappy to Hannah and Kelsey Humlan; and is also survived by a brother, Michael (Jean) Humlan; two sisters, Helen Wennig and Sarah Jerome; and by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Harbour Assisted Living and Gateway Hospice. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 702 7th St., Route 130, Trafford, 412-372-3111. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
