Dear Wendy,
It is with much sorrow but with love and many lasting memories over more than 50 years I remember the good times shared with you as both a step mum, and
from always being loyal, taking unwavering care of our Dad, to creating a warm home, showing hospitality and interest in everyone, you always brought joy in all our lives. Never one to dither, always speaking your mind just like your dad, Maxie, you were a wonderful blend of both your dad and your wonderful mum, Leslie. With lasting memories of their farmlet in East Tamaki, I recall swimming, playing guitar, shooting rabbits with Dad, in what seemed like endless days of summer.
From days on the beach at Manukau South Head riding in your classic V-DUB, on safari in NSW with you Barb & Brenda, to lodging with you and Dad at 69 David Avenue in my first year at Uni (1981) where we rescued Charlie, yours and Dad´s first dog, there was never a dull moment.
Thank you for being a lovely Nana-Wendy to my daughters, Tamsin and Jessamy, who loved you so much.
There´s so much more I could say, but mostly, thank you for your love and for being you, Wendy, a very special person in everyone´s life.
May you rest in peace Wendy, and may God´s Love comfort my Dad in the days ahead.
Love, Robbie Jones jr.

It has been an honour to have known Wendy, as my friend, for the past 50 years. A friendship I have truly treasured.
Wendy had so many wonderful qualities and attributes.
Her passing will leave a huge void in the Jones and Lawrence families and likewise for those who have known her over her lifetime.
She will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

I will always remember Nana Wendy for her beautiful smile, kind nature, and the deep love she had for her dogs. She and Grandad shared a truly beautiful relationship and friendship, and I will fondly remember the love she showed him and the happiness she brought into his life, and his love for her also. Nana Wendy will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
