Wayne was one of the reasons I got into WAAPA, seeing my passion and raw talent. He taught us so much, particularly discovering our own voices and his choir arrangements are some of the best I´ve ever performed, the harmonies making me cry. Rest in peace, thank you for your generosity with your gift

Dear Trudy, I am so sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. He was always such a tenacious chap , so hard working & committed to sharing his immense knowledge with so many, students and adult colleagues alike. He has left an incredible musical legacy. He will be sorely missed. Wayne gave me my first audition as a session musician at TVNZ2, Hargreaves St. I was so lucky to have had such wonderful experiences there working with some amazingly talented folk over several years before I left & moved to Australia in my late 20s . My thoughts are with and your family today as you navigate this unexpected loss. Take care and stay well, much love, Alexandra xx

Dear Wayne.. we are so sad to learn of his unexpected passing from Grant.
I absolutely loved being in the ChCh Polytechnic Jazz Chorus 'Voiceworks' with Wayne as our vocal coach and conductor along with Tom Rainey and Barry Brinson on keyboard. We enjoyed so many wonderful opportunities to be on stage with celebrated musicians and performers because of Wayne. I remember Wayne being exceptional doing scat!!! Wayne was a wonderful host to my husband Roger and I when we lived in Sumner. Roger and I have happy memories of our times together. Peace be with you Wayne.

Sending much love to all who knew and loved Wayne.
He was Uncle Wayne to my brother and I and always a ray of light. He made us feel so special and proud when we turned up backstage to his concerts.
Sending all our best wishes from the Curry, Messenger and Milne families in both Western Australia and Christchurch.
