Wayne RUSSELL Obituary

Dear Gaye and Sarah. Have just found out that Wayne passed away back in April 2024. Our condolences to you and family. We appreciated you both as our wonderful friendly neighbours across the road at Katote Close. Christopher continues to use the wire mesh plant covers that Wayne made, planted strawberries under them only this week. Have used many of your ceramic pot plants around the house. Thinking of you at this time.

Our deepest condolences in Wayne´s passing - he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Wayne was a good friend and colleague of mine for over 40 years since we formed Groundwater Consultants New Zealand in the 1980s. Wayne was renowned for his expert hydrogeological evidence in permitting many major projects. Foremost of these was the Waihi Gold Mine where Wayne maintained an ongoing consulting role for over 35 years since initially permitting the Mine in 1986 - a remarkable achievement.
I will miss Wayne´s friendship and having a meal and a dram with him when passing through Auckland in recent years.
Sorry we can´t be there in person for your send off but we´ll be there in spirit
