Just found out of Waynes passing. I grew up with Wayne and went to school with him in Wellington. So sad to hear of the terrible tragedy. We played together as kids and mates into our teenage years over 50 yrs ago. R.I.P.

Hi Mattie
We would like to offer our condolences.
We very much appreciated Wayne's input into Tanya, Gabrielle and Vincent's lives.
We remember him as fun loving with a great sense of humour.
He enjoyed the little things in life and loved nature and was a natural artist.
Regards
JEnnie and Wayne (Sack)

Hi Guys,
We were so very sad to hear that Wayne had passed away, so many years have passed but our memories of you all living in Cave road and the laughs we all shared still bring a smile. Steve and Wayne heading out fishing with little mike in toe, its a wonder they got back sometimes. Our heartfelt condolences to you all . Wayne always had a story that would bring a laugh and smiie to those around him, Kind regards.

Hi Guys, I was so sad to hear of Wayne;s death. Wayne and I have been mates for somewhere around 44 years. You can;t fit all that history and fond memories into an A4 page but we had some crazy, funny times. From being stopped by the police in Ngauranga Gorge as it was being upgraded after our car had run out of petrol, Wayne decided it would be quicker for us to ride a 44 gallon drum down the hill to find a petrol station. We convinced them we were not trying to break into the local abbatoir,to crossing a totally flooded river on floating logs to get back to his & Carol;s house after spending a soaked night in a wool shed.
I have not seen Wayne for some years but he was typical of a great friend, like the stars, you do not always see them,BUT, you know they are always there.
I named my first son after him and still have the greatest respect and love for him. My thoughts are with your family whom I also have the most respect for.
Kindest Regards,
Geoff Roberts.

I was very sorry to hear the news of Wayne's passing - to be honest I haven't seen him for many years, in fact my last memory of him was following the birth of his first child, my cousin Carol and I visited Wayne and his wife who had a flat just down the road from the Gear family home in Mornington. My thoughts are with you. Chris MacDonald
