Warwick MICHIE Obituary

MICHIE, Warwick John. A349554, WO1 W.J. Michie (Rtd), 1st Bn, NZ Regt (Malaya 1961 - 1963), NZ SAS, 6th (Hauraki) Battalion RNZIR, 1st Medical Battalion. On 9th August 2023 passed away peacefully with family at Waikato Hospital. Loved husband of Jeanette; father and father-in-law to Aaron and Virginia, Stefan and Roz, Jacinda, Jacob, Troy and Silke. Treasured Opi to Ariel, Viola and Nicco, Molly and Grace, Madi and Brooke, Miranda and Marcus and Freyja. A service to celebrate Warwick's life will be held at St Joseph's Church, Clarkin Road, Hamilton on Saturday 19th of August at 1030hrs followed by burial at Hamilton Park Cemetery, Newstead. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Stroke Foundation NZ via www.stroke.org.nz All communications to the Michie family PO Box 5523 Frankton, Hamilton.

Was part of the Winemaster Group of wine shops administered by Warwick - a good friend and a pleasure to deal with. He was Army and i was ex navy - had some very lively discussions over the years , My sympathy to the family.

Warwick was my staff sergeant in the Territorials in 1975 . I was to meet him later on through his sons Jacob and Troy who played Sunday Soccer for Zigzag. He used to referee on occasions . I would catchup regularly at the RSA . A great character who will be sorely missed especially the Malayan vets and his wonderful family r.i.p. Warwick
