WALTER COUGHENOUR Obituary
Age 98, of Dearborn. March 10, 2003. Born July 22, 1904, in Connellsville, PA. Retired from Detroit Edison as a general supervisor after 47 years of service. He then worked another 25 years as a sales executive for Rex Publishing in Farmington Hills. Leroy was active in many civic and fraternal organizations. As a member in over 15 Masonic orders, he received Demolay's Legion of Honor, Grand Commandry Meritorious Award and the Order of Purple Cross. Leroy was named "Mason of the Year" in 1995. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years and received Scouting's Silver Beaver Award. Leroy was married for 61 years to his wife, Lucille. He is survived by his son, William (Nancy) of Bloomfield Hills; grandsons, Glenn of Traverse City, Paul (Debbie) of Bloomfield Hills and James of West Bloomfield and great-grandsons Matthew, Samuel, Benjamin and Peter. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15th at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Commons, 16351 Rotunda Drive, Dearborn. Memorials should be directed to the Wildlife Fund at Oakwood Commons.
