I deeply regret that I came to know Vincent Gray too late to meet him personally. I only know of him through his publications, all of which demonstrate only too clearly the depth of his knowledge, his penetrating curiosity and his personal integrity. His valuable contributions to the understanding of the planet where we all live will surely live for ever.

Goodbye to a colleague on the New Zealand Association of Scientists and one with whom I did not always see eye to eye. However, I always respect Vince for speaking his mind. I will miss Vince. David Lillis

Vince together with Mary were foundation members of the Tawa Orchestra which started in the late 70's. Vince played the bassoon and sax with great enthusiasm right up until he was almost 90. Vince and Mary continued to support the orchestra attending concerts up until fairly recently. Our sincere condolences to Mary and family on your loss.

Our sympathy to all the family. Vincent was a kind and clever man. We enjoyed his friendship and that of his family in the seveties and eighties.
