Victor STONE Obituary

STONE, Victor. 18 July 1933 - 05 February 2024. Vic passed away peacefully after a long trial in hospital. Beloved husband to his adored Annette (10 October 1942 - 9 November 2013), cherished father to Aaron and Gareth and Grampa to Daniel and Katherine, and revered infiltrator of the Edgar clan. Our thanks to Vic's Air New Zealand and golfing and Taupo friends for easing his time in care. Our thanks also to the staff at Bupa Liston Heights who looked after him for so long. The family would like to invite Vic's friends and colleagues to a memorial gathering in Taupo on Saturday 24 February at the Bupa Liston Heights Apartments Level 2 Lounge from 1-3pm to share memories and some afternoon tea. I worked with Victor from 67 to when he was told to retire in 88 , part of the rules for cabin crew in those days , you could not work beyond the age of 55.A true blue Aussie and a pleasure to work with.RIP. Robbie

I flew with Vic from 1964-1985...
Being both 'Ossies' we had quite a lot in common..
Always a pleasure to fly with Vic..

I well remember Vic as a man worthy of respect and friendship. He had the ability to see both sides of a dispute and keep things running until a solution was found. My sincere condolences to his family.
