Victor BENARD Obituary

BENARD, Victor Joseph Pierre (Dominique). Regimental Number 63RIMR, (French Army). Dearly beloved husband of Nancy for nearly 38 years. Born in Brittany, 15th November 1938 and died on 27th September 2018 at Waikato Hospital, in the loving presence of his wife, and aided by the wonderful staff there at the time. Beloved uncle of Richard and Kirstin, Thierry, Franck, and Val?rie, and caring 'Tonton' of Aleksi and Sara, Joachim and Eline, David, Eva and Amelia. He was a teacher whose influence lives on in those he taught and encouraged to persevere. As President of the F.A.P.E.L.E.C. in Tahiti he promoted linguistic exchange with New Zealand, Chile and Hawaii. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Colman's Catholic Church, 465 Kapanga Road, Coromandel, on Wednesday 3rd October at 11:00am, followed by Dominique's interment at the cemetery adjacent to The Anglican Parish of Christ Church, 180 Tiki Road, Coromandel.
