Sincere condolences to family. Have wonderful memories of growing up in Manurewa next door. I earned one shilling an hour doing housework for Mrs Hynds ( I am of generation that cannot refer to an older person by their christian name) and still have some lovely china items she gave me. Very fond memories of whole family, particularly playing as a child with John and Max, the empty section between our houses and Mum and Mrs H starting a fire there burning rubbish, and then being praised by fire brigade for putting it out!. So sad that life takes away from us those we love. Very best regards. Jane Small (nee Morrow)

Dear Aunty Verna, in memory of a wonderful aunt, so much part of my childhood, always so welcoming and full of fun. The friendship you shared with Mum was especially close over many decades, and together you shared many happy times, and comforted each other in the sad times. Our deepest sympathy on the loss of a beautiful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Love from Maxine, Megan, Simone, Mark and families. (Australia)
