Valrai TRUSSELL Obituary

TRUSSELL, Valrai Margaret (née Weekes). 17 February 1929 - 27 December 2022. Pre-deceased (2020) by her husband Barrie. Dearly loved mother of daughter Louis, her partner Alain. Beloved grandmother of grand-daughter Laurence and grandson Julien. She was inspirational and will be sadly missed by so many. A gathering to honour her will be held at All Souls Chapel, Purewa Crematorium, St John's Rd, Meadowbank, at 11 a.m. on Friday 6th January 2023. Aroha Funerals 09 2961527

Aww my Great Aunty Val....As I got older I´d love our talks and visits especially whilst you were in your extraordinary and beautiful garden. Your fierce independence, terrifyingly fantastic memory and your vibrant personality. Chatting with you while you munched on some fresh strawberries, me with a cup of coffee wanting to share those strawberries. The giggles we had while you explained how you had named all the hedgehogs and how you had left cat food out for them - funny what we remember!
For all the awesome memories from my all time favourite Redoubt Road retreat, and for imparting your values and standards to me in a subtle way, helping me grow into the person I am today, I thank you.
