Valerie MACDONALD Obituary

MACDONALD, Valerie Joan (Val) (nee Mackinder). Born 23 February 1935. Passed away peacefully on 22 August 2024 at Phoenix House, Coromandel; aged 89. Dearly loved wife of the late Ian, cherished mother and mother-in-law of Carolyn and the late Doug, Fiona and the late Arthur, and Scott and Mairi. Much loved grandmother of Sarah and Kazz, Kirsty, Hamish and Jess, James and Wai, Delphi and Logan, Bella and Ethan, and Charlotte. Loving great- grandmother to Sam and Julian, William and Edward, and baby Nikau. A respected teacher and beloved family matriarch who will be greatly missed by us all. A celebration of Val's life will be held at the Coromandel Citizens' Hall, 455 Kapanga Road, Coromandel on Saturday, 31 August at 1pm.

Am very sorry to hear that Val has passed, though we had not met, we have emailed about our Standing family connections. Thinking of you all,
Anne Standing and all of the Standing Families that descended from Herbert Standing that went to Northland from Inglewood in the early 1900's.
