Valerie KERNOT Obituary

KERNOT, Valerie Mary (nee Thrupp). On the 1st of October our dear Mum "Valerie" placed down her reading glasses for the very last time as the final chapter of her life concluded, she was in her 91st year. She lived a full and wonderful life, was a voracious reader, devouring novels, newspapers, magazines, as well as cookbooks (cover to cover). She loved her social groups, enjoyed a glass or two of wine, but it was her scones that were legendary (according to her eldest son). She was the most devoted and loving wife of Brian (deceased), adored mother to Ross, Joy, Dave and John, a loving Mother-in-law, and a wonderful Nana and Great- Nana. She will be greatly missed. A memorial gathering to celebrate Val's life will be held on Saturday 29th November at 11am, at Sudima Auckland Airport Hotel, 18 Airpark Drive, Mangere, Auckland. Friends and acquaintances are warmly invited to join the Kernot family for stories, smiles, a cuppa, or a glass or two of wine - and of course a scone or two in Val's honour.
