van SCHALKWYK, Tristan. 13 June 1967 - 17 September 2019. Passed away in Auckland Hospital, aged 52. Tristan was born in Windhoek, Namibia to parents Louis Willem and Ursula van Heerden. She moved from South Africa to New Zealand in 2001. She is survived by her loving husband and soulmate, Riaan Slabbert, son Llyle Sheldon, daughter Charné Leigh, granddaughter Mariška Zoe and grandson Zane Jordan van Schalkwyk. Tristan will be remembered for her kindness and loving nature to all, her zest for life, love for travel, adventure, and family, including Foxy the Papillion. You will be dearly missed bokkie!

My beloved mother,

You will be sorely missed. You birthed, cared for, nurtured, guided, loved, and moved us halfway across the globe to ensure we will have a better and brighter future. It's not much; but thank you.

I find strength in many of your qualities which you lived every day. You lived life with vigour and passion and was very hard working. You were abundantly intelligent, completing your Bachelor's in Finance and Accounting while working fulltime, showing how it's never too late to start.

You were a wonderful mother and set an enviable example, and I bid you farewell however your spirit will live on and your memory live on within us - your loving family. May you rest in peace and find your place amongst God's angels.
