Kia ora
My name is Reg Tamati. I lived beside Trevor when he started work for uncle MOW in Turangi in the staff hostel. He was a really nice fulla. When I got married after a couple years he would come over for tea cause he wanted a break from hostel Kai. I lost track of him when he moved to Wanganui to work. He would call in to see Caroleanne and I when passed Turangi. People that were mate's: Reg Curran, Colin Wall, Rangi Lord, Paul Gurran, Matt Ormsby, and the guys he played rugby with from Pihanga Rugby Club.

Dearest Kris, Ryan, James and wider whanau,
We are still in shock here in Wellington, our hearts go out to you all.
Trevor, I can still remember over 20 years ago when Kristina introduced this very handsome chap to the family. Quiet because you listened with a caring heart and confident but always respectful of everyone. There are many beautiful memories to hold close. The wedding was such a wonderful day full of so much love between you and Kristina but equally, the birth of your boys. You always looked at Ryan and James with so much pride and adoration. They are your joy and with Kristina your beautiful love.
We will miss you so much, we promise to always be there for your beautiful whanau Trevor.
Alofas always,
Hermens and Webster whanau.

Trevor "Speedy" Hill
We first met in ´83 or ´84 at CIT (Central Institute of Technology) Heretaunga Wellington completing our NZCE.
He was a quiet, confident, self-assured chap who moved with a smooth swagger but never hustled even when prompted to do so, thus acquiring the nickname "SPEEDY". A nickname further enhanced when driving his huge red Falcon coupe, what a car. I don´t think it ever saw the red line on the rev counter, cool and slow was Speedy´s way.
Post CIT Speedy and his red Falcon coupe flatted with me in Christchurch while completing his Engineering degree. It was a great couple of years.
We met again post the Canterbury Earthquakes when he was in Christchurch completing structural checks on road bridges around Canterbury.
Our last beer and catch up was in 2019 when I was in Tauraunga supporting a friend in the half marathon. We spent a great couple of hours reminiscing on the past 35 years sharing stories of family and friends. He was a very lucky husband and a very proud father.
Speedy, I never thought that would be our last beer, but you mate will never be forgotten.
Your old mate
