Timothy MCINTYRE Obituary

MCINTYRE, Timothy Charles (Tim). Our beautiful, brave man left us on 26 December 2021, aged 56, after a remarkable and dignified nine years living with cancer. Loved and loving husband to Catherine and proud father to Clementine. Adored son of Jenny and Jim McIntyre (deceased), devoted brother to Hamish, Wallace, James and Mary, brilliant brother-in-law, uncle, nephew and cousin. Best ever bestest Bud to John. A very special friend to so many, and such a proud Air New Zealander. Tim will be missed so much. His kindness, and the way he made us laugh and feel hopeful. In accordance with Tim's wishes, a memorial service to celebrate his life and extraordinary friendships will be held at a later date - details to follow. Until then, Catherine, Clementine and the McIntyre family greatly appreciate your love and support, and wish to thank the incredible team at Mercy Hospice (Ponsonby) for their tender and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mercy Hospice. Ngā mihi nui. Thank you. E kore e ea i te kupu taku aroha mōu. Aroha Funerals 095270266

There we all were. Crew drinks at a Pub not far from Gatwick. Incredibly, a warm cloudless summers day. It was the height of 'Batman' the movie. We were all talking about it. Tim, without saying anything, you stood up, dropped your trou, and there, for all to see, and admire, a pair of Gold coloured boxer shorts, emblazoned with the Batman motif. Equally wordlessly, trou back on and you resumed your refreshing beverage.
What a memory, over 30 years ago and still so fresh.
From then on, I stood with you.
