Thomas REESBY Obituary

REESBY, Thomas Raymond. On 29 August 2022, aged 91. Devoted husband to Madeleine. Adored father to Joanna, Martyn and Juliana. Father-in-law to Ben. Wonderful grandfather to Chris, Tom, Penelope, Sam, Max, Teddy, Lucia and Isabella. Cherished uncle to Derek and Maggie, Ross and Karen. And friend and inspiration to so many. A huge hole will be left in our lives and hearts. A service to celebrate Ray's life will be held on Wednesday 7 September at St Mary's-in-Holy Trinity, 446 Parnell Road, Parnell at 2.30pm.

I had the utmost admiration for Ray as a boss and enjoyed the 3 years I had the pleasure to be his PA. Ray was an inspiration to everyone and just the loveliest man. My thoughts are with Madeleine at this very sad time.

Ray was undoubtedly a pioneer in introducing modern design into New Zealand. He persisted with design such as Knoll at a time when Kiwis only wanted mock Queen Anne replicas. I salute Ray as the true pioneer of todays interior design standards.

Very sorry to hear the news from Juliana today. I have fond memories from early in my career meeting Ray at Nova Interiors and starting a long business relationship based on strong values and commitment to quality and happy customers continued to today by Madelaine and Juliana.
