Dad and Tom met through Rotary and shared a passion for service as well as a long friendship and mutual respect. My brother John has already spoken of how much Tom helped Dad and our family. The world has lost a little colour with the passing of such a charming, caring gentleman and born raconteur. Much love to Sylvia and family

I got to know Tom through my father, Colin Mead. They were great friends. I would always look up Tom and Sylvia when I came to New Zealand to see my family. I will miss our long chat about New Zealand, the UK and the wider world. Tom had done many things in his life and he was a kind and generous man. Over the years, he did much to help my father and our family, particularly when my father had a severe stroke which caused him to stop practicing. Tom's advice and help and concern for my father over the years was something which I will always be grateful, and was typical of him. At the moment,
my thoughts are with Sylvia and all of Tom's family.
