Thelma BUTTERWORTH Obituary

BUTTERWORTH, Thelma Elizabeth (nee Barnett). Thelma died in her 89th year on 10th December 2021 at her son's home in Spain, moving there in 2020 from Te Atatu. Dearly loved daughter of the late Harold and Christina Barnett, loved sister of Elsie Wedding, Josephine Barnett (deceased), Shirley Sharp, Debra Green, Glenice Bays (deceased), Noeline Letcher and Jeanette Waters ([email protected]). There will be a service for Thelma in Spain. An adventurer, educator and animal lover until the end. If you would like to plant a tree in her memory, Thelma would be thrilled.

Thelma was a wonderful teacher and my
husband and I were privileged to have her teach our children at Timatanga Community school. She has been a tireless worker for many years in our community and beyond. Very much loved and appreciated by so many people.

Your sister was a wonderful teacher at Matipo Road School. She made learning to read fun. We live in Rotorua now and will enjoy planting a tree
