Temuranga BATLEY-JACKSON Obituary

BATLEY-JACKSON, Temuranga June. It is with great sadness that our whanau announce, Dame Temuranga June Batley- Jackson, passed away peacefully in Taumarunui on March 28, 2022. She was 82. Daughter to her beloved parents, Barney and Te Huinga Eileen Batley and sister to Christine and Richard. She was dearly loved by her late husband, Bob Jackson. Beloved mother to Rowanne, William and Vaughan and mother in-law to Tania, Denise and Hauraki. A loved Nan to Temuranga, Hikurangi, Turanga, Kahurangi, Taniora, Erihana, Te Aria, Belinda Lee, Waiora and Te Rangimoaho. A Great-grandmother to Ropata, Wiki, Reihana, Monowai, Waikohu, and Wiremu-Bobby. Thank you Mum for being a great mum and fabulous role model for our people. You were the ultimate Mana Wahine, who led the way for our whanau and Maori in the cities love you mo Ake Tonu Atu. A tireless advocate for urban Maori, the final service for her tangi to honour our mum's life will be held at Nga Whare Waatea Marae, 31 Calthorp Close, Fanova, Mangere, April 1, 2022 at 10am. No reira e kui, moe mai ra. Ka mutu, he nui atu nga korero e taea ai te whakatakoto. Engari, ko te mea nui ko to aroha mutungakore ki a matou. Ma te Atua koe e arataki I to hikoi whakamutunga.
