I was so terribly sad to hear the news of Susan´s passing. We were in the same class at QMC for many years. I remember her as a kind and fun-loving person. And a sporty one too. We loved all those house points she earned for us! I know she will leave a huge gap in your family. Sending aroha and strength to you all.

So shocked and sad to hear of Susan's passing. I still remember those young days of us all jumping on top of your lovely flat (tall!) hedge in Simla Crescent - every now and then one's foot would go through and you'd get awfully scratched, but it was exhilirating nonetheless. Very fond memories and my thoughts are with you all.

Lovely bubbly effervescent Susan so many fun days in our flat in Hataitai drinking coffee after big nights out and frequent Ian stay overs. We left NZ 25 years ago last saw Susan in Auckland when children tiny and she was still as funny and warm. Sad we lost contact but so lucky to have known Susan... a force of nature. Sending our best wishes to Ian and family from France.

I met Susan through Junior tennis tournaments in Wellington and she was always the bubbliest most friendly person. We reconnected briefly when we both had young children in Auckland, at a Westmere Tennis Club. 25 years on Susan was still exactly as she had been when we were children. Deeply saddened to hear of Susan's passing. Gone way too soon. Arohanui Sharon Callaghan (nee Armitage)

I worked with Susan for a year in 2018 and she was always just the loveliest, most generous person, even offering to pick me up after I had my wisdom teeth out. Always thinking of others first. Feel devastated by this news. Gone too soon

Heartfelt sympathy to all the family and friends who have lost such a wonderful person in their lives. Susan had such a zest for life and a wonderful smile and heart to go with it. What a privilege it has been to have known Susan and I will always remember her and our times together with huge fondness and joy.

To Ian, Jack, James, and the wider Ormiston & Abernethy families. It came as a huge shock to learn that Susan had passed away on Monday. My sympathy, love and condolences go out to you all. I knew Susan both at Victoria University and when we worked together at Gault Mitchell Lawyers in Wellington. My memories of Susan are of a fun loving person who had a sharp mind and enjoyed a good laugh. She has gone way too soon and leaves a huge gap in your lives and all of those that she touched over the years. As you celebrate Susan's life I hope you remember the good times, the family holidays, and many more things. My thoughts are with you all. Love Andrew Cotterrell
