So shocked to hear of this terrible tragedy. Stuart was an inspiration to me and would have loved to reconnect, even though it has been a long time. I had hoped we would meet on the water some time.

We were shocked to learn about the tragic accident in which Stuart lost his life. We would like to express our sincere condolences to all his family and loved ones. We only got to know Stewart and Pamela just a few weeks before their trip home. We had a wonderful time together in Koro, Fiji.
Also we hope that Pamela gets well really soon and finds the love and courage to go on.

What a terrifying and devastating ordeal so close to the end of a long and happy voyage. We all go sailing with the knowledge that the sea is all powerful as well as beautiful.
We only met you recently in Pt Denerau and in the Blue Lagoon, but sharing stories and solving boat problems, chatting on the dock, there is always a strong connection that forms between blue water cruisers who accept the risks and rewards of our lifestyle. We can only send you our warmest wishes and tell you how sad we are to hear of your ordeal, the loss of Essence, and that Stuart did not survive.

I didn't really know Stuart, but I know he had a profound effect on Alex in the time he sailed with you all. I hope in time all your wonderful memories of your life together will give you some comfort.
